Hello! I’m Marisol Ramirez—Birth Doula, Lactation Education Specialist, and Co-Founder of Three Moons Doula Collective.

I come to this work not just as a doula but as a mother, foster parent, LGBTQ+ community member, and proud daughter of Colombian immigrants. Every part of my identity fuels my passion for birth justice, equity, and advocacy—especially for those whose voices have been historically silenced in maternal care.

My doula journey began with a simple truth: every birthing person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment or barriers. Trained by DONA International and later mentored by the legendary midwives at The Farm, I’ve spent years standing beside families from all walks of life—supporting powerful, unmedicated births, navigating VBAC journeys, and witnessing the quiet strength that unfolds in labor rooms every day.

My work is deeply rooted in advocacy for birth autonomy, particularly when it comes to VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). Too many families are denied choices or made to feel afraid of their bodies. I’m here to change that. I believe in educating, empowering, and equipping parents with the information they need to advocate for themselves—because when people know their rights, they can reclaim their births.

I’m also a Certified Lactation Educator Specialist and a proud Medi-Cal Doula provider and trainer, committed to expanding access to quality care in marginalized communities. Supporting families through chest/breastfeeding, postpartum transitions, and birth recovery is a sacred extension of this work.

Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a gift from my parents—one that allows me to truly connect with the families I serve and the future doulas I help train. Language builds trust, and I cherish the opportunity to support people in the language that feels most like home.

As a Trainer with Three Moons Doula Collective, I’m proud to help shape the next generation of birth workers—doulas who are community-rooted, culturally humble, and fierce in their advocacy. Whether holding space in the birthing room, teaching a lactation class, or mentoring a new doula, my mission is always the same: to uplift, inform, and empower because everyone deserves the right to birth with dignity, choice, and love. If you are unable to afford a Doula and do not qualify for Medi-Cal benefits, Please reach out to me as I can help match you with one of our other community Doulas to help support your birth experience.

Words can not express our gratitude for Marisol… she was so supportive and nurturing during our pregnancy, labor, and postpartum!

She was knowledgeable and compassionate. During my labor she helped immensely with moving my labor along with pressure points, walking and breath work.. and at one point the doctor suggested a C-Section, Marisol was the one who recognized that baby was not positioned correctly and made suggestions on how to move me. Doctors changed course and I had a Vaginal delivery. Without her we would have ended up with a C-Section!

They will advocate for you, comfort you and help get you through the labor! The care and guidance Marisol gave me you can’t put a price on. She went above and beyond for me being there for 3 Days! I would do it again and again because of you!

My plan was to have a natural birth at the hospital and thanks to having Marisol with us I was able to do just that! My due date had passed and I was being pressured by my doctors into having and induction. I felt anxious and concerned about using drugs and called Marisol to see what she thought. She asked me if all my tests and babies vitals were normal that maybe just let nature tell us when the baby was ready. That night I went into labor! I think the calm nature of our talk reassured my body to relax. I was in a lot of pain when we arrived at the hospital but as soon as I heard Marisol’s voice, patiently supporting me through the contractions , I was able to completely let go. I soon forgot about everything that was happening around us and we created a space where I felt safe to open my body and use the contractions. At one point during a painful transition, I felt I was gonna give up

and ask for an epidural, but she helped me find the strength within  me to keep going and believe in myself! That was all I needed.

When the hospital staff tried to pressure me into taking pain meds and confine me to bed she advocated for my choice to keep moving and use gravity. In the end my labor was shorter then the hospital doctor predicted. They were very impressed. Having a doula was the best idea.

Marisol is truly very gifted!

Me and my family have so much gratitude for her. I would do it all over again with her as my doula.

I can’t recommend Marisol enough. As a first-time mom, her classes before birth were invaluable and helped us feel prepared. When my labor progressed quickly and we ended up with a precipitous, unplanned home birth, Marisol was right there—steady, reassuring, and focused—so my husband and I felt safe in what could have been a scary situation. Afterward, she helped me navigate feeding and pumping when baby wouldn’t latch and continued to check in and support us. Having her by my side through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum made all the difference.
